MEETING SAKURA

I drove all the way to Seattle and crossed 23 rivers to meet my brand new baby cousin, Sakura! Isn’t she so cute??

Oh yeah, I played with Kenji, too! I was taking a little rest, but he kept on jumping on the bed.

So I decided to join in, too.

We played with Hugs, too…

…and just looked handsome.

I also created an amusement park in his house. This ride is called the Stair Coaster.

And Kenji has a pool! He’s the most amazing splasher and water gun shooter ever.

And then I just wanted to look at cute Sakura some more.

After a while, I wanted to go for a walk around Kenji’s neighborhood. I navigated.

We walked more than one and a half miles! Kenji needed a camel ride home.

Before I went home, I really wanted to hold Sakura. She was so heavy and comfy.

Then I had my bellhop take my suitcase to the car. It was fun meeting you, Sakura!

FRUIT TASTE TEST

We got a bunch of fruit in our Imperfect Foods box. So we had a fruit taste test!

I think apricots and honeydew are yuck. But watermelon, strawberries, and plums are yum!

Daddy thinks Dexyheads are delicious!

SCENES FROM THE NEW NORMAL

Here we are, another week at home, with no end in sight. So we played some music…

…and just kinda collapsed on stuff.

I also practiced skateboarding in the kitchen.

The neighbors probably got used to seeing me make the mail run in my pajamas.

Another day, another pair of pajamas.

I drew lots and lots of pictures.

Daddy and I drew amusement parks together and made tons of them in the last week. I’ll post my favorites some day.

I also liked to climb on things.

Garden update: We thought all of our snap pea babies died in the snow, but one little guy prevailed!

We also soaked this dried up corn cob we got from a friend a couple years ago. It began to sprout, so we’ll put that in the deck container garden next week.

SCENES FROM CONTINUED ISOLATION

We finished our third full week of being housebound. I told Mommy, “it feels like we’re under house arrest.”

As usual, working on my many Planet Coaster parks was a top priority.

I also rode rides at my in-home amusement park.

Our potato sprouted!

We chopped it in half and put it in that pot of dirt.

We continued to make progress on our puzzle. It’s only fitting that it’s actually a Christmas puzzle, because that’s probably when it will be finished.

I drew, colored, and named birds.

Daddy and I drew a whole bunch of amusement parks.

And we saw a pretty rainbow outside our window at sunset. What will next week bring???

J. WILLY’S

For Leap Day, we went out to dinner in the historic Willamette neighborhood of West Linn. Daddy and I played Tic-Tac-Toe while we waited for our food.

I chose the restaurant, J. Willy’s, because they had pizza on the kid’s menu. It was really good pizza!

HAIRCUT AND PLAYGROUND

It was haircut day! While I waited for my turn, I did what Daddy and I call “the joke dance.”

Here’s the “before” picture:

Then after my haircut, we went to my school’s playground to play.

Here’s the “after” picture:

NEW YEARS DAY 2020

For New Years Day, we took a little jaunt to Oregon City.

At Black Ink Coffee, we built a bunch of little LEGO creations.

Then we walked to the record store so Daddy could ask someone about getting his record player fixed.

And then I tried to avoid Mommy’s camera, as usual.
