KINDERGARTEN FALL CELEBRATION

Today was the Kindergarten Fall Celebration! I tried the pumpkin bread we baked yesterday, which was pretty good, but my favorite were the apples.

Mommy and a mom from the other kindergarten class were in charge of making sure we had fun crafts. I made a little Dixie cup squirrel…

…and also a fall leaf person.

Fall leaf person is excited for Thanksgiving break!

SCHOOL WORK: NON-FICTION STORIES

Writing is my favorite class that isn’t recess. Right now, we’re writing true stories! Here are a few of my latest.

This one is about going to the French bakery, St. Honoré, and seeing a family of girls wearing tulle dresses.

This one is about going to Disneyland.

And this one was about when I went to the hospital with kidney stones.

Fially, this one is about when we got stuck in the snow on our way to the airport to visit Nana and Papa.

PUMPKIN PATCH FIELD TRIP

My first kindergarten field trip was to Lee Farms (where I had many preschool field trips before).

Our school bus was late in arriving, so we spent some time in the library first. Mommy was a chaperone and was in charge of me and Anna.

The first thing we all did when we got there was splash in puddles!

A man told us about a bunch of varieties of pumpkins.

And another man showed us how they made apple cider in the olden days.

We saw a bunch of animals, including chickens. As usual, this was my least favorite part. But Anna loved them all.

Then I picked out my pumpkin! We’re going to carve it before Halloween.

MY FIRST FUN RUN

The “Fun Run, Walk & Roll” is an annual Cedaroaks tradition. And I just finished my first one!

Thank you very much to my contributors!

Here’s my class waiting in line for our turn to start running.

Off we go!

We got some encouragement from Chipper the Squirrel…

…and Officers Halverson and Corbin.

Finally, the finish line! I did two laps!

I ended the event with a well-earned Otter Pop.

SCHOOL WORK: WRITING

At school, we write stories by drawing pictures and labeling them if we choose. I’ve been writing all about rollercoasters and amusement parks!

Here’s Dexyland:

And Dexy City:

This is an Ibox rollercoaster and upside down slide:

Here are some more amusement parks:

Mrs. Flagg sometimes suggests I write about something different, but I usually choose not to. This time, though, I decided to draw Winnie the Pooh’s village:

APPLE PIE PIZZA

My kindergarten class had a baking session at the Pine Diner (a kitchen at my school).

We made apple pie pizzas and got to try them after. I liked the baking, but didn’t care for the taste. I didn’t say that out loud because some kids liked them and that would be yucking someone’s yum.

These were the instructions we were given before baking. We guessed what would be the easiest part and what would be the hardest. I guessed flattening the dough would be the hardest, but it was actually the easiest!
