SALMON RELEASE

In science this year, we raised salmon from little eggs to alevins to fry. Then it was time to release them into the Willamette River. All of us 3rd graders walked down to the boat dock to let our fry swim free.

I named my fry Salish. I sure hope she makes it to the Pacific Ocean!

This is my 3rd grade class! My teacher, Mr. Jones, is taking the picture.

And here are allll of the 3rd graders!

PORTLAND SPIRIT

For Labor Day, we went on a boat!

But first, I was distracted by this cool bench made from a bathtub.

Then we went on a boat – the Portland Spirit!

First, we had lunch and I had to save my Smiley Potato from jumping off the bread.

But enough of lunch, it was time to get outside and see some bridges!

The Marquam!

Tilikum Crossing!

The USS Blueback parked in front of OMSI! (Not a bridge, but cool anyway!)

After some fun, though, it was time for me to get to the wheelhouse and captain the ship for a while.

Then it was time to say goodbye to the seas (actually, the Willamette River)…

…and head back to port.

RIVER DAYS

For the 4th of July, we went down to the Willamette River. I sent cars into the water, saw a bunch of people launching kayaks, and was terrified that a team of ducks would start talking to me.

EASTER WEEKEND

The Easter Bunny visited our new home in Oregon and brought me a basket of surprise eggs and Shopkins (which I’ve had a mild obsession with on YouTube). But my favorites were the eggs filled with (come on, we all know)… CARS!

Mommy and I also went back to Maddax Woods for a picnic and egg hunt – but this time, we brought Daddy and Chubs!

And thanks to Nana and Papa for the Easter candies and chocolate bunnies!
