PUMPKIN PATCH FIELD TRIP

My first kindergarten field trip was to Lee Farms (where I had many preschool field trips before).

Our school bus was late in arriving, so we spent some time in the library first. Mommy was a chaperone and was in charge of me and Anna.

The first thing we all did when we got there was splash in puddles!

A man told us about a bunch of varieties of pumpkins.

And another man showed us how they made apple cider in the olden days.

We saw a bunch of animals, including chickens. As usual, this was my least favorite part. But Anna loved them all.

Then I picked out my pumpkin! We’re going to carve it before Halloween.

LEE FARMS III

For the third year in a row, I went to Lee Farms with my school for our fall field trip. You can check out my last two years here and here.

As a pumpkin patch veteran, I prepared myself for the tour.

It was a gloriously damp day and I had lots of fun jumping in puddles.

I learned that these greenish pumpkins are the best for making pumpkin pie.

Then, for some reason, we were all drawn to tap this big inflatable pumpkin.

In years past, the animals were my least favorite part of the tour. I’ve never been a fan of farms or zoos. But this year, I was actually kind of interested. There were baby cows…

…horses…

…and goats. This mama goat gave me the staredown.

And this little baby goat crawled down his ramp all the way home.

The chickens were stinky.

And finally, it was time to get down to the business of picking out a pumpkin.

Thanks, Lee Farms, for another fun day!

SCHOOL FIELD TRIP

My school returned to the Lee Farms pumpkin patch this year.

We went on a walking tour of the farm, which included cows, horses, goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits, and, of course, pumpkins.

I won’t go on playground slides by myself yet, but I had no problem with this one. I guess playground slides are just too small for me!

LEE FARMS

Yesterday, I went on a school field trip to Lee Farms. It was so great, I stayed for hours after all of my school friends had left. I picked out a couple of pumpkins, drove some tractors, and played with construction vehicles in the sandbox. But my very very very very very favorite thing was petting the baby chicks. They were so cuuuuute!
