LEGOLAB: THE RETURN
After a summer of building LEGOs at every library in the greater Portland area, I got a little burnt out. So I took a little break.
But yesterday, I made my return to LEGOLab at the Oregon City Public Library!
SAYONARA, ELIWEN
Eliwen is moving to Japan on Christmas Day. So we went to our old haunt, the Singer Hill Cafe, with her before she left. I told her I’d send her candy canes because she loves them and they don’t have them in Japan.
LONG SHADOW
OREGON CITY MUNICIPAL ELEVATOR
Oregon City consists of two parts: the part at the bottom of the cliff and the part at the top of the cliff. If you’re on foot, to get from one part to the other, you need to take the elevator!
I’ve actually been really wanting to go on the elevator for a while now. So we finally went! I rode up and down a whole bunch of times and made friends with the elevator operators. They even let me push the button several times.
If you’re not a fan of elevators, you can take the stairs. The choice. Is. Yours.
SPLASH AND SWING
We went to the Oregon City library to pick up eclipse glasses. And while we were there, I went on the big kid swings – for the first time! I also played in the splash pad, even though my swim suit was at home from all the swimming I’ve been doing lately.
LEGO BUILD-A-THON
Because my four days a week of LEGO building get-togethers aren’t enough, I went to “LEGO Build-A-Thon” at the Oregon City Public Library, hosted by LEGO Master Builder, Blair Archer.
Eliwen came, too!
ELIWEN IV
I had another play date with Eliwen yesterday. As usual, we started off at the Singer Hill Cafe.
Then we went to the Oregon City Public Library, where I did some more flower hunting.
Next, I had to go check out my latest work from last weekend’s LEGOLab. (I go every Saturday with Daddy now.)
Then we played on the computers. I had my own computer, but I wanted to check out what she was watching (a video that had girls with butterfly wings or something??)
Then it was off to play with the second greatest building toy (after LEGO, of course)… Magna-Tiles! I built an airport terminal, as I always do.
Then we went off on our separate ways. I always stay for a really long time. I like the peace and quiet. And once Mommy drags me out of the house, it’s hard to drag me back in.
STAIRMASTER
I’m doing stairs by myself!
NORTHWEST BOY
Mommy’s all wanting to rush to the car from the library, but I’m fine with meandering with my plane through the rain.
