Guess who was excited to paint some more pottery!

Guess who was excited to paint some more pottery!

It’s my last first day at Cherry Hills! I’m the old veteran around here, so I’ll show the young whippersnappers how we do things.

For Labor Day, we went on a boat!
But first, I was distracted by this cool bench made from a bathtub.

Then we went on a boat – the Portland Spirit!

First, we had lunch and I had to save my Smiley Potato from jumping off the bread.

But enough of lunch, it was time to get outside and see some bridges!

The Marquam!

Tilikum Crossing!

The USS Blueback parked in front of OMSI! (Not a bridge, but cool anyway!)

After some fun, though, it was time for me to get to the wheelhouse and captain the ship for a while.

Then it was time to say goodbye to the seas (actually, the Willamette River)…

…and head back to port.

Before Labor Day, we headed to Lake Oswego for a new (to us) breakfast joint called Chuck’s.
As you can see, waiting is so fun.

Mommy asked me to smile for the camera, so I did…

Much more fun was walking along this narrow ledge. I am a self-proclaimed “dare devil.”

And even more fun was sliding down this mega slide at Sahallie Illahee Park in West Linn!

This is a pretty cool, weird game. I like it mostly for the map and getting to name the travelers.

As the summer comes to a close, so too does the weekly Music in the Park event. We came, we saw, we enjoyed the rocking tunes of Petty Fever.

I love getting balloons at outdoor festivals. It is the highlight of my summer.

Here is a final tribute to the best dog in the world.
Then we’ll get back to it being all about me. :)
We said goodbye to Chubs on Monday, August 27th. He was a gentle and patient brother.
He was a world class sunbather and I’m happy he got to enjoy the hot summer weather.

One of Chubs’ favorite things was taking a rest in the periwinkle in front of our house. He would lie down there, smelling the air, while I played with my ball.

Here are some pictures of Chubs and I through the years. He was the very best. We love you, Chubs.

We all went to Portland so I could fulfill my dream of riding on a Portland Streetcar!

I had such a good time, I even wanted to have my picture taken in front of the streetcar after we got off.
